Survey#

Surveys are the most frequently used customer feedback channel. They are one of the oldest as well. Easy to make and publish thanks to various tools available both free and paid. They are effective in a sense that you can send them to thousands of people with a click but the response rate is not really guaranteed.

In-App Feedback#

Giving users a way to send feedback while using the application is something that gives power back in the hand of the user. There is no need to put an incentive for such feedback. If implemented properly in-app feedback promotes both positive and negative constructive feedback equally.

At gleaner we provide tools to craft beautiful web widgets for in-app feedback.

Feedback#

Any information you get as a reaction to your product which in turn you could use to improve your product is feedback. Analytics services, twitter following, instagram likes, youtube views .. everything gives a piece of information that can directly or indirectly help your product. There are various channels to get product feedback, here I'm listing some of the common ones.

Surveys#

Forms or questionnaires sent directly to customers or potential customers in hope to get a reply.

Polls#

Another form of survey but in a passive format that lets customers react quickly.

Social Media#

Public presence and content can be used to gather reaction from followers. It also becomes a place for users to interact with products directly.

Chat#

Engaging customers who land on your web page with a live agent chat.

1-on-1 Interviews#

Inviting customers to have a more personal discussion about the product.

In-App#

Prompt users to let their voice heard while they are using the application.

What is Gleaner ?#

The simplest tool to gather in-app user feedback. A frictionless experience for users and a seamless experience for product developers. At gleaner we are creating beautiful widgets that embed anywhere in your web application and let your users provide feedback with just a tap without feeling a major UI/UX disruption.

Why Gleaner ?#

We believe that direct user feedback is one of strongest signal a product company can get. Sure, there are analytics, heatmaps and other indirect data gathering tools that give an overview of how users are interacting with the product but getting a direct constructive feedback reveals much more and avoids the need for interpretations. Current feedback tools require a lot of effort from users, which in turn incentivizes them to leave feedback only when something breaks. Our thinking is that we should aspire for positive feedbacks as well and know what works and make it even better. So we build gleaner which requires, in most cases, only a tap from the users. Our customisation lets you craft a widget that feels like your own product and prompts a question in front of the user in a non-intrusive manner.

What does gleaner mean ?#

Literal meaning of glean is to gather what is left behind after the harvest. At Gleaner we try to capture those user feedback that were left behind by other tools. Gleaner doesn't replace your existing analytics and user feedback tools but works with them to give you additional data.
